Sahaja Meditation Meetings

About the Meetings

We usually begin each meeting with a guided meditation, where everyone in the room enjoys a peaceful state of silence and calm.
The meeting includes a brief explanation about one aspect of Sahaja Meditation. There is usually a video of a talk by Shri Mataji, the founder of Sahaja Meditation.
Hands-on demonstrations of Sahaja Meditation allow everyone to learn how to balance themselves and enjoy a stronger experience of meditation.
The meeting concludes usually with a second, short collective meditation.
Each week a different topic is covered, so that after a few weeks a beginner has a good grounding in Sahaja Meditation theory and practice.
Newcomers are always welcome--previous weeks' notes and information are available each week for anyone who has missed a topic.
Sahaja Meditation is an "antar" or inner yoga. The process of becoming a more relaxed and balanced person requires no physical or mental effort. Some self-discipline is required at first to develop the habit of a daily 5 or 10 minute meditation at home.
The knowledge of yourself is learned in Sahaja Meditation through your own experiences.

What to bring, what to wear

The main part of a meeting lasts about an hour. You can either sit in a chair or sit on the floor to enjoy Sahaja Meditation. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. You can bring something to keep your weekly handouts in, if you like.
